Streaming and Smart TVs

Monday January 27th 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Every day, more and more people are “cutting the cord” and canceling their cable subscriptions. Instead, they’re using free or low-cost streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu to watch their favorite shows and movies online. This presentation will introduce streaming: what it is, how to use it, and the variety of content available. You’ll also learn how to watch live TV without cable and how smart TVs and streaming devices can let you watch videos from the Internet on your television.

Join CVCOA for breakfast and agency updates. You'll hear from Paula Otenti, Board President, John Mandeville, Executive Director, and Caleb Grant, Executive Director of Vermont’s Rural Community Transportation, will give a keynote presentation on local transportation challenges and a vision for overcoming them.

In this keynote address, Caleb Grant, Executive Director of Vermont’s Rural Community Transportation, will discuss the critical transportation challenges facing Vermont’s aging population and explore innovative solutions. Focusing on the unique needs of rural communities, Grant will highlight how microtransit, resource consolidation, and dynamic community hubs can improve mobility, reduce isolation, and enhance access to essential services. By rethinking how transportation and community services are integrated, this session will offer a vision for a more connected, vibrant, and independent future for Vermont’s older adults, ensuring everyone can thrive in the place they call home.
