Strengthening Support of Older Vermonters Grant

The Central Vermont Council on Aging (CVCOA) is excited to announce a new community grant opportunity. The Strengthening Community Support of Older Vermonters grant will provide limited financial support to communities and partners who are addressing the physical, social, and emotional needs of older adults in central Vermont. This financial support will help develop and strengthen the support services that older adults need to continue living independently and to thrive in the communities they know and love.

Strengthening Community Support of Older Vermonters Grant Application

Who we are:

Central Vermont Council on Aging (CVCOA), as an area agency on aging, has a role to foster the development and implementation of a comprehensive and coordinated system to serve older Vermonters, age 60 and older, and family caregivers within our service area (Lamoille, Washington and Orange counties as well as Bethel, Hancock, Granville, Pittsfield, Rochester, Royalton, Sharon, and Stockbridge). We work with a variety of municipalities and community partners to help us in our mission is to support Central Vermonters to age with dignity and choice in a home and community environment. Visit www.cvcoa.org for information about CVCOA and our services.

Purpose:

The Strengthening Community Support of Older Vermonters Grant is created to provide limited financial support to communities and partners to help CVCOA build greater capacity and to develop a network of support for older adults and family caregivers. Our goal is to help develop and support services addressing the physical, social, and emotional needs to older adults. The network of services includes, but is not limited to, nutrition, socialization, creativity, physical activity, technology, transportation, and housing. We seek to support community-based service non-profits we collaborate with now and those we hope to in the future. CVCOA will consider offering grants for organizations that are located in or directly serve older adults and family caregivers in our 54-town service area. Our goal is to disperse these grants across our service area.
