  • Powerful Tools for Caregivers - is a 6-week educational program designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend. You will benefit from this class whether you are helping a parent, spouse or friend, someone who lives at home, in a nursing home or across country. You'll learn tools to reduce stress; communicate effectively with others; reduce guilt anger and depression; set goals and problem solve; and take care of yourself. Suggested donation of $20 to help defray cost of The Caregiver Helpbook; donation is not required to attend.

Contact Barb Asen at basen@cvcoa.org or 802-476-2681 for more information.

  • Living with Alzheimer's for Caregivers - is a series of education programs that provide answers to the questions that arise in early, middle and late stages of the disease. Hear from those directly affected and learn what you need to know, what you need to plan and what you can do at each point along the way.

  • REACH OUT – is a home-based support program for adults caring for a loved one with dementia. CVCOA case managers will provide home and phone visits over a 6-month period that will focus on education about dementia, caregiving and stress; home safety; caregiver health; relaxation; coping with dementia behaviors; and enhancing social support. Caregivers will work with case managers to identify problems and learn problem-solving techniques. Together they will create action plans to resolve these problems.
