In the News!
Alison Novak from SevenDays sat down with congregate meal attendees at the Waterbury Area Senior Center to talk about the center's reopening and how attendees feel about being back in person after a long pandemic year, with growing concerns over the Delta variant nationwide and in Vermont.
After eating a delicious meal together, Waterbury Area Senior Center staff and board members were interviewed for the article along with staff members from the Central Vermont Council on Aging.

We are incredibly grateful for the service of our AmeriCorps Member, Danté DeNault, during this challenging pandemic year. While we are sad to see Danté's service year come to an end, we are excited to recruit our next VHCB AmeriCorps Member to serve as the Volunteer Outreach Coordinator at CVCOA!
This full-time position begins on September 8th, 2021 and ends on August 12th, 2022. Members receive a living allowance, education award, health insurance, federal school loan forbearance, and various training and networking opportunities.
Medical Debt Project
The Office of Health Care Advocate (HCA), a project of Vermont Legal Aid, assists thousands of Vermonters each year with questions and problems related to health insurance and access to care. Through this work, they have identified medical debt as a major challenge facing many Vermonters. They have launched a story collection project to deepen their understanding of medical debt and how it impacts Vermont families’ health care decisions. Please complete their online survey to share how the cost of health care impacts your life. Participants will be entered into a raffle for $25 VISA gift cards to thank them for their time. If you prefer to verbally share your story or if you would like a printed copy of the survey, please call: 802-448-6943. The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete.
Your voice and story will help the HCA advocate for Vermonters facing debt.
