The home delivered meals program provides nutritious, dietitian approved meals to older adults who are homebound by reason of illness, frailty or disability. Services are intended to maintain or improve the health status of these individuals, to support their independence, and to prevent premature placement in nursing homes. To register for Meals on Wheels, call the Senior Helpline at 1-800-642-5119 or the Home Delivered Meals program nearest you. Click here for mealsites & senior centers in central Vermont All Meals on Wheels participants will be contacted by a CVCOA. I&A Field Specialist to offer a home visit for information sharing and an assessment of any other needs and concerns you may have. There is a suggested donation, although CVCOA would like to emphasize that this is a voluntary contribution. No eligible person will be denied meals if unable to make a contribution.
For those adults younger than 60 and disabled, contact the Vermont Center for Independent Living (VCIL) at 1-800-639-1522 for more information about eligibility and registration for home delivered meals.
