The home delivered meals program provides nutritious, dietitian approved meals to older persons who are homebound by reason of illness, disability, or who are otherwise isolated. Services are intended to maintain or improve the health status of these individuals, support their independence, prevent premature institutionalization, and allow earlier discharge from hospitals and nursing homes. Home visit assessments are made by field specialists to determine each person’s eligibility. To apply, call the Senior Helpline at 1-800-642-5119. More mealsite information can be found on our Senior Centers page. There is a suggested donation, although CVCOA would like to emphasize that this is a voluntary contribution. No eligible person will be denied meals if unable to make a contribution. For those adults younger than 60 and disabled, contact the Vermont Center for Independent Living (VCIL) at 1-800-639-1522 for more information about eleibility and registration for home delivered meals.
