The State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) is designed to provide help with questions or concerns about Medicare related issues to those 65 and over or with disabilities. Trained counselors and volunteers help you with any questions or problems you have with Medicare or other health insurance, including the Vermont State programs.
Our counselors resolve insurance confusion in the following programs:
Medicare - Parts A, B, C & D
Medicaid
Medigap Supplemental Insurance
VPharm (Vermont's prescription drug coverage program for people with Medicare)
And they can help you with:
Questions about Medicare, Medicaid or other health insurance coverage
Questions about Durable Medical Equipment coverage
Selecting and enrolling in a Medicare Part D plan
Problems obtaining your medications with Medicare Part D coverage
Sorting out confusing medical bills and statements
Filing health benefits claims or appealing denial of coverage
