Senior Companion Program

Senior Companions help elders who are frail and homebound to live independently. Companions assist with a variety of tasks, such as light housekeeping, reminders to take medications, and grocery shopping. They can provide respite support for family caregiversby assisting elders with these and other important daily tasks necessary to maintaining independence. Companions can also provide opportunities for sharing conversation,

hobbies, and friendship.

Senior Companions are volunteers 60+ who receive a small stipend in exchange for

providing this simple but vital services. No medical or technical skills are required to

become a Senior Companion.

For more information or to apply, please call the Senior Helpline at 1-800-642-5119

and ask to talk with our Senior Companion Program Coordinator.

" I enjoy being a Senior Companion. It makes life interesting.

And fulfilling. My visits let elders know thay are still honored

and still cared about, that they are still wanted."
