Senior Companion Program

CVCOA coordinates the Senior Companion Program for Washington, Lamoille and Orange counties. Senior Companions are older adults who help frail, homebound adults live independently. Companions can provide respite support for family caregivers by assisting with grocery shopping, reminding to take needed medication, and other important daily tasks necessary to maintaining independence. Companions can also provide opportunities for sharing conversation, hobbies, and friendship

No medical or technical skills are required to become a Senior Companion. For more information or to apply, please call the Senior Helpline at 1-800-642-5119 and ask to talk with our Senior Companion Program Coordinator.

" I enjoy being a Senior Companion. It makes life interesting.

And fulfilling. My visits let elders know thay are still honored           and still cared about, that they are still wanted."
