Assisted Living and residential care are state-regulated residences that provide assistance with meals, laundry, medication management and housekeeping. They are designed to meet the needs of seniors who can no longer live independently but do not require the level of care provided by a nursing home. Some facilities provide transportation, activities, and other services. Some facilities offer private rooms, some have shared rooms.
For seniors on Medicaid there is financial assistance if the particular assisted living facility accepts Medicaid.
